    December’s Global Holidays: holidays celebrations

    We’re just around the corner from the end of another year, and that means it’s time for all sorts of celebrations! Here are some of the global holidays that you might want to be aware of this  december global holidays. Christmas: This is one holiday that pretty much everyone celebrates, no matter where they are in the world. There are plenty of events and activities to take part in, from big family gatherings to decorating your home for the holidays. New Year’s Eve: This is probably the most celebrated global holiday, and for good reason! It’s the time when we reflect on the past year and set goals for the upcoming one.

    There are plenty of parties and celebrations planned all over the world, so make sure you get involved if you want to ring in the new year in style. Easter: Easter is a major Christian holiday that commemorates Jesus’ resurrection. As with Christmas, there are many Easter events happening all over the world. From Easter egg hunts to religious services, there’s something for everyone to enjoy during this joyous occasion.

    Christmas

    Christmas is one of the most famous and celebrated holidays in the world. Celebrations typically include religious ceremonies, gift giving, and family gatherings. Some people celebrate Christmas on December 25th, while others celebrate it at different times around the month of December.

    In the United States, Christmas is typically celebrated by exchanging gifts with family and friends. Many Americans also attend special holiday events, such as a Christmas parade or concert. Countries all around the world observe their own unique version of Christmas celebration. Here are some of the most popular holidays around the world:

    Christmas in Canada: Canadian Christmas celebrations traditionally include lots of food and drink. Canadians often go door to door to give gifts to friends and family members. They also attend church services on Christmas Eve to worship with their loved ones.

    Christmas in Mexico: Mexicans traditionally celebrate Christmas by exchanging gifts, eating traditional foods, and going out for a festive night on the town. Families usually gather together to watch a traditional nativity scene played out by actors during Christmas Eve services.

    Christmas in Spain: Spanish Christians celebrate Jesus’ birth by attending mass on Christmas Day morning and then eating a hearty breakfast called torreón (tower). After breakfast, families might go out for an early lunch before returning home for more festivities centered around a grandpasita (grandparent’s little girl) named Nochebuena (Christmas night). Presents are typically given late on Christmas night after everyone has had enough time to rest from all the excitement! december global holidays

    Kwanzaa

    Kwanzaa is a seven day holiday celebrated in America, Canada, and parts of Europe. The holiday celebrates African heritage and culture. It is also known as the “Nguzo Saba” or “seven principles of wisdom”. The holiday observances start on December 26th and end on January 1st. Kwanzaa is based on the Principles of Niai or Swahili philosophy: Umoja (cooperation), Kujichagulia (collectivity), Ujima (mutuality help), Nzinga (fortitude), Mwari (patience), and Imani (faith). These principles are meant to teach people about self-determination, collective work, community responsibility, and self-reliance.

    Hanukkah

    Hanukkah is a Jewish holiday that commemorates the victory of Judah Maccabee over the Syrian army in 165 BCE. It is celebrated by lighting a menorah, eating a festive meal, and exchanging gifts.

    New Year’s Eve

    Think about your New Year’s plans. Maybe you’ll be at a party with friends or family, or maybe you’ll stay in and watch the ball drop on TV. Whichever you choose, make sure to enjoy the festivities! Here are a few global holidays that are celebrated around the world this month:

    Christmas: Most people celebrate Christmas on December 25th, but it can also be celebrated any time of year according to your religious beliefs. Families get together to exchange gifts, eat Christmas food, and listen to holiday music. Many businesses close for a day or two during this time so people can spend time with family.

    Kwanzaa: Kwanzaa is a holiday celebrated by people of African descent throughout the world. It commemorates the founding of an African community in Africa by their first leader, Mawuli Kujichagulia. The holiday celebrates collective achievement and responsibility, as well as self-determination and unity. During Kwanzaa, families gather at home to share special meals and interact together. Some businesses close for a day or two during this time so people can celebrate privately.

    New Year’s Eve: On New Year’s Eve, most people december global holidays celebrate by partying until dawn (or until they pass out from exhaustion!). There are usually lots of events happening all over town including parties, fireworks displays, and maybe even some midnight traffic jams! Make sure to plan your night accordingly so you don’t miss any of the fun!

    Chinese New Year

    The Chinese New Year is a time to reflect on the past year and prepare for the coming year. Families gather together to celebrate with festivities such as festive foods, dragon dances, and parades. In some parts of the world, people also exchange presents or make donations to charity.

    Valentine’s Day

    Valentine’s Day is a popular holiday celebrated on February 14th. It commemorates the day in 1540 when a young noblewoman, St. Valentine, was executed by order of the Roman Emperor Claudius II for marrying early. Legend has it that she fell in love with an imprisoned soldier named Februarius and sent him food and flowers with the hope of winning his freedom. Today, Valentine’s Day is a time to express love and affection to your loved ones. There are many ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day, including Sending Flowers, Making Love, or Going on A Romantic Date.

    Easter

    Easter is a Christian december global holidays celebrated on the first Sunday after the spring equinox. easter celebrations often include religious observances and colorful eggs decorating homes and churches. Some countries have additional national holidays associated with easter, such as Turkey’s Republic Day, which celebrates the country’s founding in 1923.

    Other global holidays celebrated in 2017 include Christmas, New Year’s Eve (aka New Year’s Day), Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Diwali, and Saturnalia.
